[Suggestion] Add ECC certificates to free certificates

What would you like to be added or improved?

Add the option to obtain an ECC-384 certificate for the free certs.

Why is it needed?

Currently the only certificate type is RSA.

Please add a drop-down-list with the option to use ECC-384 certificates.

Performance of ECC certificates is much better compared to high grade RSA keys.

Thanks for the suggestion. You’re right that the current free certificate flow issues RSA certificates and does not provide an option to select the certificate key algorithm.

We recognize the performance and certificate-size benefits of ECDSA certificates for modern clients.We’ve recorded this request and will consider supporting ECDSA certificates in the automatic issuance and renewal flow.

We can’t confirm a release or timeline at this stage.As a workaround, you can obtain an ECDSA certificate externally and upload it to SafeLine manually.
